Privacy Policy

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Policy applies to users of the Services in the United States who are at least 13 years old. Minors between 13 and the age of majority should use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account & authentication: your email address and authentication identifiers, and any name or photo you provide, including through Google or Apple sign-in.
• Profile: display name, bio, home state, hunting interests, and avatar.
• Content you create: posts, photos and video, comments, reactions, and harvest records (such as species, weapon, date, and measurements).
• Harvest & stand location: a location label and, if you choose to add it, precise GPS coordinates for harvests and stands. You can mark a harvest's location as "undisclosed" to hide it on public posts.
• Precise device location: with your permission, your device's location is used to power stand GPS capture and "Near Me" club discovery. You control this through your device settings and the in-app location toggle.
• Club activity: the clubs you belong to, your role, events and RSVPs, stand check-ins (including any wind, temperature, and sightings you log), and any dues or fines your club records.
• Device & notifications: device type, a push-notification token used to deliver notifications, and basic log, diagnostic, and usage data needed to operate and secure the Services.
• Anonymous product analytics: on EAS mobile builds, Expo Insights may collect anonymous app-open and device statistics that are not linked to your account and are not used for advertising or tracking across apps or websites.
• Purchase status: your Premium subscription and entitlement status from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat on mobile, and from our website payment provider when you subscribe on the web. We do not receive your full payment-card numbers.

3. How We Use Information

• provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Services and manage your account;
• show your content to the audiences you choose (your club, or the public feed);
• send notifications you have enabled and respond to your requests;
• process and manage Premium subscriptions through our payment providers;
• prevent, detect, and address abuse, and review reported content; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:

• With other users: content you post is visible to the audience you choose. Public posts are visible to the broader community; club posts are visible to club members.
• With service providers who process information on our behalf: Supabase (hosting, database, authentication, and media storage), Resend (email), Expo (push notifications and anonymous usage diagnostics), Vercel (hosting), RevenueCat and the Apple App Store and Google Play (mobile app distribution and billing), and our website payment provider for web subscription checkout.
• For legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or the Services.
• In a business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
• With your consent: when you direct us to share information.

5. Public and Shared Information

Content you post may be visible to other users depending on the feature and the audience you select. Public posts are visible across the Hunting Club community. You can mark a harvest's location as undisclosed so it is not shown on public posts.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we must retain it for legal reasons.

7. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport and access controls on our hosting and storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us at legal@huntingclub.app and we will delete it.

9. Your Choices and Rights

• access and update your profile information at any time in settings;
• control notification preferences for each club;
• enable or disable location services used for "Near Me" discovery;
• block other users;
• delete individual content; and
• delete your account entirely, which removes or de-identifies your personal information.

10. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence (for example, California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. As noted above, we do not sell or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, contact us at legal@huntingclub.app; we may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Do Not Track

Because there is no universally accepted "Do Not Track" standard, we do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals unless required by law.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

The Services rely on third-party providers (including Supabase, Resend, Expo, Vercel, RevenueCat, the Apple App Store and Google Play, and our website payment provider) and may link to third-party sites. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

13. International Use

The Services are intended for users in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
